Yesterday and today I bought 4 silkie bantam chicks from a local but they had no idea on their age. I guess they were given to them. Anyone familiar with silkies have any rough estimates? The little buff silkie is only a little over a week old. The 4 in question are the darker ones.

If you've never owned silkies they are a generally docile breed, but the hens go broody quite often (that being said they usually make great foster mamas).

A bunch of our Silkies and a couple Polkies we have. The Polkies are a little crazier, but I think it's an inherited trait from the Polish side😂.

So cute! I owned a pair about 10 years ago that I had gotten from tractor supply. The only two in my group of mostly EE's at the time, and I fell inlove with them. But we just recently moved back into the countryside and can have chickens again so I am starting over and feel like a complete newbie lol. As far as silkies go I've acquired 2 little buffs (rooster was a buff and hen was a blue splash so they have some funky undertones lol) and these 4 which I'm thinking are some form of possible cuckoo ? I was given very little info-but I'm glad to have them 😊 just hoping they aren't all roosters in the end lol
