New York mini chickenstock 2016

So it turns out I'm probably going to be able to come to this :celebrate I will be bringing a friend who doesn't have chickens but admires mine. Also she appreciates it when I dump eggs on her when I have too many :p

Sounds awesome, everyone I know is laughing at me because all I've been doing is researching chickens, coops, building coops, brooders ect. They think I'm nuts. I am totally hooked. I just purchased 7 buff Orpingtons and built a huge brooder for them. I will soon be introducing them to my red sex links which are now 5 weeks old.I have never in my life owned a chicken or thought of raising chickens till a month ago. Idk I turned 40 and found a new passion....lol. I an really excited about coming to this event and bringing some of my ladies with me.

Okay, I think the lists are updated. I may have missed some stuff . Let me know if you're supposed to be on the list and I missed you!

Also we don't yet have a lot of stuff for the potluck or the auction and since it's getting close (28 days!) we should probably try to figure that stuff out. I'll bring plates and napkins, but we will also need cups and plasticware. If someone coming from far away wants to bring those things that would probably be easier than bringing food for them. We also need drinks and I'm not sure if chicken girl is providing things like hot dogs and hamburgers and rolls or if we'll need someone to get those.

Also for the raffle, I know we were trying to get lots of hatching egg donations. We were really sparse on them last year and it's just so much more fun when there's a ton of eggs to auction off (I'll try not to win them all this time :p) so if anyone has hatching eggs they would like to donate that would be great. Otherwise other chicken related things are always a hit as are gardening things.

For anyone that doesn't know the proceeds of the raffle go to the host to defray the cost of holding Chickenstock so if you can donate anything it's really appreciated :)

Quick edit: If anyone is looking for the lists they are here.

I have no outlet where we will be at. Wish I did mac sounds good.

I could smoke some kielbasa and bring cheese and crackers to go with it. Still deciding on raffle ideas. I have no roo so I can't do hatching eggs. Im thinking maybe some homemade salt and sugar scrubs

So looking forward to seeing everyone again! Things have been so busy here it will be nice to have a weekend to relax and talk chickens and see everyone. Glad to hear your going to be able to make it Pyxis!

My list of things...

I should with any luck have some Magpie ducklings by then if anyone is interested. I gave a friend 3 dozen to hatch for me so we'll see how many hatch.

I will also bring some Magpie Duck eggs for the auction along with a flock block. I may see if I can get a chicken friend of mine to let me donate a bottle of his wine. He makes a TON of different kinds and so far they have all tasted good. If I snag anything else cool I will add it to the list.

For food I will bring a case or 2 of water and possibly something else, maybe some kind of main dish. I'm thinking of some BBQ shredded chicken? Tastes good cold too.
