What breed of dog do you have?

He's a whippet

I had one once (a female so she was much smaller).

Went well with my three retired racing greyhounds that I also had at that time.

I've been looking into retired greyhounds just gotta convince the wife.

We have two, Twiggy and Woody. Sweetest, most low-maintenance dogs EVER. Very little shedding; they tear around the yard about half an hour each day and then lie around the rest of the time. Not much barking either.

Other pluses: they come to you already crate- and housebroken, and very well socialized: used to being around people and other dogs, used to being handled by strangers.

And did I mention? SUCH sweet dogs. Very affectionate and loving.

Also, you get the warm feeling that comes from saving one or more dogs from being taken out and shot once their racing careers are over.
