Non Gmo or Non Soy?

Check your mom and pop feed stores. Tucker Milling is a local in the area, they produce some reasonably priced non-GMO stuff (though not a huge product line). I've used it myself and was satisfied, but not thrilled, with the product.

Not sure where in the Panhandle you are located, but I've picked it up in a couple places.

We are in Cantonment. It's right outside Pensacola. I'll check. Thank you!

I know Cantonment, have driven thru once or twice - and no, i don't mean the stretch of I10 that's one of Cantonment's borders. You should have Little Eden Farm nearby (Pace) - elderly lady raises bunnies, pigs, various fowl. Her rabbits are really exceptional, I can definitely recommend (though pricy). Beyond that, I don't know the area well - I'm a good bit east of you.

I've never shopped these people, but Barnes Feed Store, and Barnes Feed Store Too both carry Tucker Milling.

Ain't the Internet great?

Yep. I just looked on the link you posted to find a seller and Barnes has it. Couldn't find Barnes except their Facebook page (and I don't use Facebook) so thanks for the additional link. We will have to check them out. Not familiar with Eden, but we live near about 6 horse farms and 2 cow farms. One lady has 80 chickens. She is the one that took our 8 roosters a few months ago. Small area but growing up too fast for my liking.

Interesting, thanks for the link. Is there anything more recent?
Probably, I've been lazy and haven't much looked. I saw a more recent link maybe 6 months back with another group urging the FDA to get rid of synthetic Met I could probably find if I looked again, but USDA basically ignored them, there was no policy paper in response.

Wow. Never had that problem but we use crumble. Our cat food has always been fine. I hope they got that issue worked out
Yeah definitely a pain but I've grown to like that feed (the ingredients) to the point where I'm willing to work through the issue and stick with Modesto. If I get the replacement crumble and it has issues though I may rethink my feed options.

I did call Modesto Milling directly yesterday and let them know of the issue going on with Chewy. I emailed them pictures of the moldy bags/feed and they did actually say that although it looks to be the bags were water damaged, there's also a chance the bags were filled hot. That would make a bit of sense since on the last bag i got, it almost looked passable (slight white mold inside toward the top) but i reached my hand right into the middle of the bag and pulled out a big glob of clumped together feed. Either way I hope it gets sorted out, I really do not want to try and source another feed that meets my desires. Seems like if one feed leaves out one ingredient like soy, then they put another in like canola. If they leave canola out, it's got soy, and so on.

I'm glad you reported it. It's bad for their business to have moldy bags out there. There are so many spots on the supply chain that it could've happened. I have not heard anything bad about Modesto - I'm sure they will investigate it.

Did you have the mill date/lot number to give them?

I've been using Kalmbach Poultry Feed Organic Starter/Grower Pellets.

https://www.kalmbachfeeds.com/product/20-organic-chick-and-meatbird-starter-grower-pellet/

It's been special order from my local Family Farm and Home or Agway. I wouldn't call it cheap ... but I only have 4 birds, so the cost isn't crazy.
That's what I order from chewy. It's not the organic one though - non-gmo. But chewy does carry the organic one and I found that their prices are better than local stores.
