seems there are a lot of people who get more than 1 egg/hen occasionally. watch out for those who think they know everything...just because they haven't experienced it yet.

I did not say on occasion a hen might lay two eggs a day, but to have half your chickens laying two eggs a day is a tad hard to swallow.

A more likely explanation is the eggs were not picked up at the same time each day and the hens laid the egg right after they were picked on day 1 and just before they were picked on day two. Giving the chicken over 24 hours for the egg to develop.

Usually a hen will regularly lay x amount of eggs per week. and physically take a break. The break between egg laying sessions some times occurs in the middle of a day... Egg in Morning Egg in Afternoon or evening. Its rare but it does happen.

I have never experienced this but have read about it in several places on the internet. I am a Fact checker. And have perused hundreds of sites on the subject. Even some College sites.

I suspect it happens with young hens who haven't Got into full production yet.
