Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or A Cockerel? Click Here!

Here’s a weird one. Pretty sure it’s a Roo. Her name is currently Elsa and she’s seven weeks old. She’s supposed to be a Columbian Wyandotte but I think not. She might be a silver or white laced Wyandotte though. I’m still ridiculously hopeful that there’s a chance she’s a pullet because she’s the sweetest chicken ever and we can’t keep Roos due to city ordinances. Her back and bottom feathers are still coming in and her back has been a little hen pecked...

Hi! This is our first time with straight run chicks and I'd love your opinion on their sex. The whole bunch is chest bumping so I'm getting nervous! They're all 5+ weeks old except the black who is 4 weeks #1 Rhode island red, suddenly much larger than the others. #2 Rhode island red #3 & #4 Porcelain d'uccle bantam/white silkie mix #5 Unknown black breed from TSC pullet bin, very tiny and slow to feather. Still smaller than the 2 bantams. Would love a breed guess on her too if possible! Thanks for looking!

I know the nervousness. I panic over my "pullet" chicks being possible Roos until they lay an egg! Only because I got the wrong breed and sex out of marked bins a couple times already.
I am ONLY guessing: #1 roo, #2 pullet.
i think your 4th one is way different looking than #3. So i say # 3 is a roo and #4 a pullet. Im probably wrong on all of them. your black one #5 looks like a Black Australorp. Does it have pink skin tone color when you lift up and look under his foot? Im not even gonna guess its sex, as im still confused about the gender of my BA at almost 8 weeks old! It was so much smaller than the others and didnt even start getting a tail until 3 weeks! For a few days its waddles and comb were pretty pink, and then it was gone! I am leaning towards pullet now though. Pictures below are 3 weeks with barely tail and 6 weeks. She/he is finally caught up to the others in growth and maturity.

Thank you!!! Those were all the exact guesses I had! 🙂 I'm going to have to line up some rooster homes. Hopefully the Australorp is a pullet. I have been so confused by her! I have a australorp but she's a couple years old and I don't remember the slow growth. 🙂

8 week old Easter egger. I purchased it as a pullet, but it’s behaving differently than the others and has the reddest comb. Also curious about my 10 week old light Brahma.

They were very black as day olds with a defined spot that didnt run into the neck and black feet, no white on their wings and the breeder insisted they were female but they look very cockerel to me. Any guess on the gender? Thanks!
