15 more eggs into lockdown. These had a rough journey in the post (5 broken) then I cracked one and repaired it with candle wax

Welp - I decided to incubate to the end and one hatched so far! I think we might have two more, one egg is shaking and the other might have a tiny external pip! Or it's sibling cracked it, but we weren't expecting any so it's a pleasant surprise regardless.

The absolute best part is that I think this chick is the offspring of my favorite hen, so fingers crossed that it does well.

Too cracked to wax? Candled on day 5 and have a few embryos showing(or what I think is lol seeing pictures online and in real life is a bit different) . Have at least three with nothing but to be expected as we weren't sure which ones were fertilized

Hmm I'm not sure. I have seen people wax a egg what's been damaged like that so you could give it a go

Well out of my 15 ppsted eggs that made it to lockdown only 7 hatched. 4 birchen Marans out of 10 and 3 silver cuckoo, one being the cracked egg I waxed.
3 of my own also hatched.
I have another small lot of 8 eggs left for this month

I had 12 olive egger eggs at the start, 9 hatched! It's crazy in the baby brooder now. Last weekend I had a couple barnyard mixes hatch and now they're all living together.
