Old fashioned Broody Thread for Ducks

What are "call ducks"?? Do pekin and magpie duck hens usually/or rarely go broody??? I have duck eggs but no mama!!!

I do think some Pekins can do go broody not sure about magpies

You won't have to do a thing, they'll take care of it all. usually around 5-6 months old.

Well, this is what came out of the 2 live eggs....!!



How does the yellow one come about?? there were 2 more yellow's and 4 brown's in the eggs that died
I strongly suspect the mother actually has a lot of silver Appleyard but she's got dark legs and olive beak and has laid 60 eggs in 60 days since her autumn moult - this little one's got orange legs and pink beak and is much bigger than the brown (although it did hatch 22 hours before the other)

I took the turkey poults soon after hatch and left her with her duck eggs so she continued to incubate them.
