I'd just like to note that Backyard Chickens is a very good source of information in all topics and issues related to chickens.
You can browse through various peoples opinions and then decide what is most accurate for you in your situation.
On the other hand, I would say that there are several big chicken keeping website/blog operators that post biased and or incorrect information and that leads to a great majority of backyard chicken keepers following their advice and passing along the same misinformation. Curiously, I heard from multiple people that they were blocked and comments removed after posting a polite comment that offered another opinion on those sites. I won't mention names, but the top two are pretty obvious particularly the one that's always giving stuff away.
