F.Y.I. I do have a heart.
First, my heart goes out to the victims, the chickens.
Next, my heart goes out to the animal(s) whose life I am forced, by circumstances to take.
Than my heart goes out to myself because, once again I have had to take a life. Never a good thing, but sometimes necessary.
And lastly my heart goes out to the owner of the dogs who, through laziness and ignorance has cheated himself out of the companionship of the dogs.
None of this mitigates our responsibility as livestock keepers to protect our flock. Fortunately for me, Texas law agrees with me on this matter.
