Crossing the Road
I lean little "l" libertarian - most of the candidates for the Party are (in my rarely humble opinion) "bat crazy" - so I have some appreciation for what the extremes can do to a movement...100% agree here. I consider myself 'green', eco-friendly, and an animal advocate, but these bills are coming from an extremist element.
They already hit California up and made it illegal to sell rabbit pelts. Rabbit pelts. Anyone seriously buying pelts is importing them from Europe -- the US doesn't compete and so this law largely just slaps backyard raisers around.
There was another law put up recently that would limit animal husbandry altogether, in that you couldn't touch animals in an 'inappropriate' way -- which is pretty mandatory when sexing animals or doing things like castrating small livestock.
Thank you @Ironclay for weighing in as someone more inclined to be forgiving, looking at one's fellows at the shadows of their own political tent.
