Oregon bill seeks to criminalize breeding/raising livestock for meat

100% agree here. I consider myself 'green', eco-friendly, and an animal advocate, but these bills are coming from an extremist element.

They already hit California up and made it illegal to sell rabbit pelts. Rabbit pelts. Anyone seriously buying pelts is importing them from Europe -- the US doesn't compete and so this law largely just slaps backyard raisers around.

There was another law put up recently that would limit animal husbandry altogether, in that you couldn't touch animals in an 'inappropriate' way -- which is pretty mandatory when sexing animals or doing things like castrating small livestock.
I lean little "l" libertarian - most of the candidates for the Party are (in my rarely humble opinion) "bat crazy" - so I have some appreciation for what the extremes can do to a movement...

Thank you @Ironclay for weighing in as someone more inclined to be forgiving, looking at one's fellows at the shadows of their own political tent.

Artificial insemination is sexual assault??? Good grief!!! I remember hearing about one animal rights activist demanding that shelters be put up in feedlots so cattle could have sex in private. I guess nobody told him the cattle were steers and that they didn't have sex, and if they did engage in sex, they didn't care if there was privacy or not.

I wonder if this could be the real reason why they don't want people to eat the animal's anymore? There would be someone making some big money with this:

Absolutely. Veganism isn’t a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable for most. Humans ARE omnivores wether vegans want to accept this actual, undeniable fact or not.
Just my 2 cents: So, why do I see "vegan" hot dogs, impossible burgers, vegan cheese, and other vegan inventions that mimic meat and dairy products? Does not make sense to me. I enjoy the real thing, thank you.

Because vegans crave animal products and the nutrients they contain. I'll take the real thing over a fake imitation any day. 👍

Because not everyone mentally can tolerate just eating "rabbit food", they still want what they used to eat, but not meat versions
