That might be part of your problem. Neither my ducks or my chickens would eat enough of the white pebbly oyster shell. I have had 0 problems since switching over the the grey flaked oyster shell.

I went to the feed store and they only sell the shells that I already have. They who owns it has heard my issues with egg bound hens 3 so far in a year. She says she has been in business 15 years and that is not something she hears about often. And she said if your eggs are solid like they are you do not need more calcium. Calcium supplements are only used for better harder shells. She said my feed should be more than enough. Not sure why we are dealing with these issues.
