Our First Meat Bird Experience - S & G Poultry

What a cool thread! I am totally hooked! I sold my NN roo that was from a local hatchery around here and he was HUGE! He was a little rough on my EE ladies so he had to go, he was over a year old so I didn't want to eat him fearing that he would be tough. I like the idea of raising and incubating my own meat chickens. I love to incubate and this would just be awesome! Let me know if you get a good cross between the two breeds!

Update - Well, I decided not to hatch out any mixes from the Rainbows and Lucky. We already have entirely too many chicken projects going on and we were soooo happy with the quality of the birds from S&G that we will just get more chicks from them and know what we are growing out. Our plan is to order 50+ chicks from S&G this fall and grow them out. I am thinking we might go with all Rainbows next time... but, we might try the "new" Heritage Whites - http://www.sandgpoultry.com/heritagewhite.html
