Owlet's Blog

I hope you'll have an area to quarantine your new fair-purchased chicken that's not near your existing flock.
I went to the Fair last week and headed straight to the poultry bldg. as usual.
I was saddened to see several of those poor birds.
I saw scaly leg mites, swollen eyes and faces, dry pox, sneezing......

Hope your fair chickens look better than the ones I saw at mine.

That's horrible. Yes my new chicken is quarantined. She has minor scaly leg so I'm fixing that plus she has some raw spots on the ends of her toes that need some TLC.
I named her Henny Penny or Penny.

One of my roosters came down with upper respiratory infection so I've put him on five days of antibiotics.

Owlet is doing good. She just got over a minor ear infection. She's such a cutie. Some of her sisters started laying!!!
So life at the coop is still buttersweet as always, but I love my chicky babies so much!!!

I promise some pics of the new chicken, and the others soon.

Owlet is doing great!
She looks like a basketball, she's so fat!Auctually she might be too fat.
She doing well through winter. Her parrot beak is all normal after some trimming and her lice are gone.
She looks like a normal chicken!

With all my birds healthy and grown up, I'm getting chick-sick. I miss babies!
I need babies now!!!!!! with my birthday coming up I'm looking at babies on hatchery websites.
What's your best breed pick for cuddly birds?
