For the duration of my one week trip, my friend's son, who is 16 and also has chickens, will be taking care of my babies for me. He'll come over once a day to check on them and give them fresh food and water. In addition, he's going to collect my mail. I have thirteen chickens divided among four coops. How much should I pay him?

Is he walking over or driving/getting a ride? That would play into it for me. With four coops and no cleaning of them or letting out/locking up involved, I'd give him $10 per day - more if cleaning them or driving was involved. I'd also get him a little souvenir from the trip as a little thank you.

He gets to keep the eggs he collects too; I get about four or five a day. Yes, he does have to drive to my house. It takes about ten minutes.
