Truthfully, I've been thinking of putting a time limit on when eggs can be offered. Offering eggs for Fall is pushing it since none of us can see in the future.

I have to admit, I think that's a good idea. None of us can foresee problems -- and I have definitely learned that with chickens, problems come up! I have one swap of my own plus a set of contest eggs* I promised for the future, and simply getting those out has proven to be a challenge (or more like series of challenges -- wait for pullets to lay, build pen so I know pullets are purebred, check fertility which on marans is a slower process for me than most eggs...) For myself, other than the two sets of eggs I owe currently, I won't ever be offering eggs from birds who aren't already laying and fertility tested. There's just too many potential things that can go wrong.

(This is why I track everything on my swap page...) The whole idea of owing eggs in the future definitely makes me nervous. I'll be extremely relieved when they're all sent out and taken care of!
