Peacocks lost their tails end of March

I've hatched peachicks this year starting in February. At the end of March both my peacocks lost their tails. I'm getting an occasional fertile egg from one pen from just one girl but the girls in my other pen stopped laying. How can they be fertile when they are supposed to not be able to produce when they have no tails?
How do I get them back in sync for next year. I did use heat lamps last winter which I was told was the problem. Any clues as to what will happen? The males are 3 years old.
