Great pic of you and the turkey. You have them tame and spoiled already.

Is the avian flu close to you? I think it's England that everyone has to keep their birds locked up or under bird netting. That is so horrible I hope they get to let their birds out soon.

Yes Avian flu is here. Luckily no cases have been reported near me.... yet!

Happy New Year everyone!

Heres some of my favouraite pics from this year!! Hope you've all had a nice time!

30th of December:
Sooo look what I've ended up with

. This man I know asked me to come clip his ducks wings. He also wanted me to look at his chicken pens and give my opinion because "he knows I'll tell him"

. Anyways, I went and sorted the ducks. He was saying to me he felt sorry for them having to be stuck in the pen with the hens. I more said its the hens he should feel sorry for having to cope with the ducks mess. Anyways, he told me he got these 3 girls off his nephew as they weren't being looked after. The light Sussex was getting attacked by all the cockerels (there were 5), the two black rock (i think?) girls just stayed out the way. I told him there were too many in the pen. I said I felt sorry for the light Sussex girl and he was like "I know she gets walked by the cockerels all the time", i then pointed out the black rocks and said "ooo they're pretty!", he said "you think they're nice? You can have them!". I was like "well can I have light Sussex girl too I feel sorry for her and they seem to be friends". So I've got 3 new girls now. Think they were happy to be out of the mud with some clean food and water. This could only happen to me... what's three more anyways?

So you go to clip some duck wings and come home with 3 new chickens.

Bless your heart for getting them out of that environment. They have come home to the right place. If I had the money I would buy you a big farm where you could rescue all the birds that need good homes.
