Ordered 28 chicks. 18 dead when they arrived this morning.

So far we have 10 left, and not sure what they are.

Of the specific 12 we ordered, Bielefelders breed, looks like we might have one.
Looks like one is a speckled Sussex & one is a Dominique.

12 Bielefelders
15 Surplus
1 Surprise chick
Which hatchery?

Were the Bielefelders supposed to be males or females or straight run?

You might have a Silver Spangled Hamburg: 2nd photo, gray chick, flat little rose comb. I am very sure about the rose comb, pretty sure it's something silver (not gold or red or black), not very sure about the Spangled or Hamburg parts of that guess.

The black chick with the white head spot might be a dominique. I can't tell from the photo, but it doesnt look like she has a single comb to me. Definitely a barred baby though.

Straight run. (Auto sexing)
Ooh that might be it. Thanks.

Debating on posting name of hatchery & details…
this was a fiasco on our end; not what we expected from a top named hatchery.

Different hatcheries have different breeds, so for example Meyer Hatchery has a chick ID guide, but if you got them from somewhere else, it might not be that helpful.
