This is my favorite chicken in the flock, Cheekers my Lavender Ameraucana, who was hatched April 25th, 17wks tomorrow.
This morning I noticed the neck feathers looking ominously like hackle feathers of a roo.

I've already found 2 roos in my flock I have to rehome and going to cry if Cheekers becomes #3.

Help!

I do believe the hackles and sickle feathers are similar to that of a rooster, although the comb isn't very red. I'm curious as to what the more experienced people on here think.

Cheekers is gorgeous, by the way!

If the age is correct than it's not a cockerel.
IF I am off,it would be by just one week. I tried writing them all down but the breeder had the 1 and 2wk chicks were together so I could be off. Cheekers is the same size as the other 16 and 17wk flock.

I don't know if it's a cockrel or a pullet but either way I do like that coloring, very pretty.
She/he's really gorgeous and has such a great personality. He'sy favorite. Hops in my lap when I bring out the snacks and ANY bug I bring in aline and Cheekers snags it faster than the others. Such a fun chicken.

Thank you. Sure hoping she's a she and not trying to identify as anything else. Cheekers was my favorite score of all my babies.
