Porcelain d'uccle thread

Here's one of my golden neck d'Uccle/OEGB pullets, named Honey. She's about 2 months old. Weeks ago she nearly died, found her laying on the coop's floor unresponsive, but thankfully I was able to save her. Since then she's become quite affectionate and comes when I call her, and seems to enjoy my kisses on her head and puffy cheeks.

Here's my over 1 year old mille fleur d'Uccle hen, named Spunky. She went broody and shared a nest with a mottled Cochin bantam hen, and between them they hatched 13 chicks.

Spunky with Sweetpea, my 1 year old golden neck Old English Game bantam rooster that sadly, I had to give away, along with my 3 other roosters.

Darn, They assured it was a female. How noisy are they as a male? I bring them in at night so they're not outside. Maybe that will help to hide it. I live in a development. This is the sweetest thing ever I can not give it up. I just couldn't do it.

Heres my girl, She is about 5 months.

Thank you for posting a picture! I just picked up a small 2 month old with a larger Waddle and they told me it was female but some have question that. I loveed to see your female with that Waddle. This gives me hope that mine will turn out to be a girl.

It is normal for a 5 month old pullet to have a small red crest, but younger pullets have a much much smaller crest that is a pale peach or pink color. Take a look at the photos I shared on my previous post above, to see the difference in crest between my 1.5 and 2 month old d'Uccle pullet, 1+ year old hen and, 1.5 and 2 month old cockerels.

OMG guys you'll find this hilarious. MY two porcelain du'ccles are dwarfed by my silkie roo. But the ca ca ca all day, look all cute, and now at least ones doing the funniest thing. I can be holding any of my female chickens. and he dances up with one wing dragging on the ground, and hes so intent on getting as close as he can i can just scoop him up lol. pics of the blighters to come shortly.

Dallas and Texas. My bantam roos. Never giving them up.

“Tiny” is the bluest out of all the porcelains, barely any cream on her at all. I can’t wait to see how she matures. Anyone had one similar???

Tiny is beautiful. In the future, when I moved to another property, hopefully in the country, I'll get more d'Uccle pullets, including a couple of blue ones, and maybe a roo, as I miss my percelain d'Uccle rooster, Chickpea.

Here are photos I took today of my 2 golden d'Uccle pullets, Honey is about 3 months old and Buttercup is about 2 1/2 months old.

Their mom is a 1+ year old mille fleur d'Uccle and their dad is either a 1+ year old golden neck Old English Game bantam or a 2 year old buff Polish rooster.

Buttercup used to be mostly 1 color, golden, but now she's looking more like her sister Honey, both have the buff or cream mille fleur but no black spots like their mother.

This is Honey and Buttercup's mother, Spunky, when she was 4 months old:

Spunky with one of the possible fathers, Sweetpea, both were about 9 1/2 months old.

This is one of her flockmates, a golden neck d'Uccle pullet, at about 4 months old. She's a much paler gold and has more cream mille fleur, than Honey and Buttercup.

This is the other possible father of Honey and Buttercup, he's a standard size buff Polish, named (David) Bowie.

Sadly I had to give away my 4 roosters after someone called 311 to complain about their crowing, and I got a visit from a DEP inspector, who gave me a warning and told me to get rid of them to avoid getting fines. I live in NYC, so roosters aren't allowed. I had Bowie for 2 years, and the other 3 roos for 1 year. I miss them, especially Bowie, he was an amazing flock guardian.

Out of all my young pullets and adult hens, my 3 d'Uccles are my favorites.

Those are darling names! They’re so gorgeous 😍 I hope you get to relocate soon, it’s definitely difficult to fully let yourself succumb to the chicken math in the city. Your roos were stunning! That would be heartbreaking. We’re technically not supposed to have them either, but it’s an agricultural town and our neighbours have been very kind. Technically one of our roos is from one of them lol
