Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Here is a little side project I've been working on. I'm breeding French Golden Cuckoo Marans. We have a superb Buff orpington hen, who is my permanent incubator. I was curious and hatched one of her eggs crossed with my Golden cuckoo rooster to see If I would get barred Orpingtons. I ended up with a pullet with this interesting pattern. So she's half orpington.

She turned out really nice looking, so I hatched a few more. The color seems pretty consistent with this cross.

The young cockeral is 6 weeks old now:

So now I have a breeding trio. I'll see how they turn out in the F2s.

I don't come here much but when I do, I'm so happy to see fresh pictures of "our" baby, Bella! Thank you!

That's a beautiful bird! Tell me about her egg color and rate of lay. ️You maybe onto something!

Hello! We have 4 1/2 Orpingtons at our house, a 9 week old lavender (Willow), three blacks (Holly, Cuddles and Diana) and the half is a three week old buff Orp/FBCM mix (Professor Lockhart).Holly, Cuddles and Diana along with some of their flock mates. Their faces aren't usually this red, it was a hot afternoon at nearly 90 degrees when I took this picture.

Professor Lockhart
I didn't get a good picture of Willow when I took the last set, so here she is at 7 weeks.
My daughter loves Orpingtons, and these were her chicken pics for the flock. She would like an Orp of every color if we had more room!
