Post pics of your EE/Americana/Ameraucana as a Chick and as an Adult

Since there are so many color patterns of EE chicks and adults, it might be nice to see pics of everyone’s chick compared to the same bird as an adult.
We might even find a trend there, or maybe not, but it would be interesting to see.

Post the earliest and the latest pic’s, you have, of your EE / Americana/Ameraucana.

If possible add the name of the hatchery and include the type/ color of eggs you get.
Please state Foot color and type of comb, if your pic doesnt show it.

This is intended to be a pseudo-scientific study of them

I wish I had pics of my older girls when they were chicks. I have two new pullets and will definitely do before and after pics.

I have one Americana/EE that I bought from a feed store. The feed store uses Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell ID.

One the left is my little brown chick. (On the right is a RIR chick)

Here she is drinking water, 3 days old, in the foreground. Same RIR is behind her.

This is her as an awkward adolescent.

Now, my green-legged girl is an adult. Deep brown body, nice gold head.

Sometimes she fluffs out her beard and muffs and looks really chipmunky.

I purposefully grabbed the darkest brown chick in the bin because I was hoping for a dark brown adult. It worked pretty well, I would say.

She has not yet laid an egg. We are hoping she'll lay one any day now- should be starting in a week (or three)! If I remember to, I'll add that info once it happens.

ok, here are a few of my hens...Im thinking they are about 16 weeks now. Not sure what hatchery they came from, I got them from another BYC member.

The earliest pics I have of them is at 7 weeks...

This is Molly now... she is about 8 weeks old...

lol I'm glad that I saw this thread because I thought that the other chickens were pecking her head.. because her comb wasn't like the others.. she doesn't much have one... also her legs look greyish to me...
