I'm a beginner! Just spending too much time looking up chicken facts. I did see somewhere that you can put different colors by their vent and when they lay it transfers to the egg. Not sure what type of color you would use! Maybe food coloring on the vent in the morning? I only have four and know exactly who started. Man, she was turning into a total pms mess. Vocal, mean, picking on the others. She laid first. I caught the other two in the box and when I look out there and one is missing for a little while I know which one is in the coop.

My neighbor has a hen that crows. One of mine quacks like Donald Duck.

I also have some that do a goose honk. Hahaha.

Congratulations!!!! Beautiful egg!! I feel your pain!! We had a racoon decimate our flock too....horribly traumatizing!! I'm sorry for your loss! I'm incredibly glad you're back in the game!!
