Ducklings should arrive tomorrow - yipee!! I'm going to do the towel thing to start in the brooder box to help prevent spraddle leg as suggested.
When would it be safe to switch to newspaper - a few days or a week or ...? I'm using shavings in the kiddie pool brooder which I'll probably switch them to after several days and the sides are about 8 inches high. For those of you that used one this size, how old were your ducklings when they figured out they could jump out? Mine are Welsh harlequins, BTW.
