Our old heated base just wasn't cutting it on the cold nights it so we got a new one. Before I toss out the old one, has anyone ever replaced the parts inside one of these things? The manufacturer's website seems to be down or else I'd be checking there first.

Any info on repairing these things would be appreciated.

That said, I've got some ideas on how one could be repaired or remade - like just putting a section of heat tape, or a 15-watt bulb in it and buttoning it back up. I expect the thermostat is still probably OK but the element may have burned out.

Thanks in advance!
