Rooster "high steps" when he walks

It can sometimes be because they can't see well. There also may be a slight injury like a sprain causing it. I've seen it in a few different roosters over the years. The one that went blind continued to high step.

Does he always walk like that?
How old is he, in weeks or months?
Any chance of a video showing his gait?

I've had some young birds do that, they usually grow out of it.

Hi
i have a BIG copper maran rooster that hops/high steps when he walks. i've looked at this feet and legs, no signs of damage or mites. i have about 12 birds and none of the others have this issue. anyone see this in their birds?
Hi,
My rooster has always "goose stepped", he also kind of hops when he runs. It doesn't matter what the ground cover is. I've checked and his feet are fine, I think some roosters just do it. Prob some male behavior. But it is really funny to watch, I questioned it at first too. He's a happy healthy boy!
