If these are the chickens your asking about they both look like pullets to me.

Yup and can even see a sickle feather on the first one.

A crow can be removed surgically but it's stupid just like no crow collars.

Yes I see it on the Barred Rock now also now noticing he does have a lot a wider white barring which I've heard is typical of Barred Rock roos (I've never had a BR roo so I can't speak to how true that always is).

I have a Rhode Island Red hen that has very large red combs and wattles people always think she is a roo but she's not. The BO roo I had didn't crow until he was 15-16 weeks so I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Sometimes if you have more than one it takes longer for them to crow, sounds crazy right? The cockrel I kept this year didn't make a sound until the other fellas were gone now I can't shut him up.
