I know what you mean about the view. When I was looking for property, I was more interested in what was around it, than the property itself.
I think Tennessee is far more tax friendly than GA is.
TN has no income tax so wouldn't tax DH's pension like GA does.
The third one is nice. I'm watching that none are in subdivisions. First one is out of our range price-wise, too many acres. Second one is in a subdivision. Third one is really nice, lot is a tad small on lot size for the price, but not too bad. I like Madisonville, as long as it's not in one of the flood plain areas. That is easy to check on the tax maps. The criteria I was putting in was:
110K-170K
No mobile homes
Min 2 BD, Min 2 BA
Easy access as far as steps.
Prefer existing outbuildings such as barn.
Not down in a lowlying area
Minimum 2 acres, Maximum 5 acres. Would prefer 3-5 really.
Not in a subdivision, not in any city limits, and of course, no restrictions on poultry, including roosters.
Areas from Pikeville eastward, south of Knoxville, though I did look up around Tazewell and Sneedville which are beautiful mountainous/hilly areas east of the Johnson City area.
