It was just lucky that my brother goes past the hatchery on the way home from my nieces specialist appointments so no extra drive to get them, just a stop to pick up the chicks on the way past. We have been slow growing them to try and get a few breeding birds out of them.

Latest hatch.
Stats:
36 set
30 showed development
25 locked down
22 healthy bubs
2 dis. Without internal pip.Looks like ruptured yolk sac.
1 dead in incubator. Hatched with infected yolk sac.
 
Poop/dirt on the eggs? Contamination in the bator? Something passed along from the parents? Malpositions?

Eta - shipped eggs?

Thanks. Some were a bit dirty, and not exactly shipped but did travel about 6 hours int the bottom of a car in some very rough travel.


Yea I was just tossing out thoughts. I do think rough travel could possible upset some weaker membranes. Really impossible to guess though.

Congrats on the hatch though. Sounds like it was great overall!

65 set.
12 lavander Aracuana shipping through 8 post offices.
5 lav spilt silkie and 6 buff silkie. Shipping through 4 post offices, was 6 lav split but one smashed in transit.
42 local eggs including first 10 from new layer.
