Show Breeds for County Fair

I entered a dozen chickens at our County Fair last night. There was a large Fowl crevecoeur next to our birds which is quite rare, but at Country Fairs and especially in the FFA divisions rare breeds usually don't have any other entries to compete against. If you want to compete against other exhibitors then stick with your Leghorn Bantams, Old English Game bantams, Silkies, and other main stream bantams. If you are looking for something different than everyone else or something you havent worked with before I would suggest looking into the Ko Shamos. They are a true bantam breed that was just approved by the APA a few years ago so there is a lot of buzz about them in the poultry community right now and are sure to get a lot of attention at the county fair. They will be different from what others are showing and they are good quality birds that the judges really like (as well as the spectators at that are used to just seeing american class birds).
