Isn't that always the question, LOL.  I think the easiest way to think of it is that the eggs want 3 days of not being turned.  So on day 18 you do not turn.  And never intubate eggs

question...for those who use tape to hold the silkie crests up...how do you remove it?? I am scared if I use tape it will get stuck??

My little silkies are 6 months old now and i still am unsure of their sex. Can anyone help me out? The white one is a tad bigger than the blue but not by much. These are the best pictures i could get. They run fast and are not very keen on people. Lol!

I too was wondering why "Codieshell" hated their chicks... Lol.

Yes, Silkies do have black skin, meat & bones. I have never eaten one that I know of.

These chickies are all so gorgeous... How can like just one?

Silkies take longer to get the hang of roosting, than do other breeds, but they will roost eventually. My top roost is about 3 feet off the ground, and they will even roost up there.

Mine roost with other hens just fine.. In fct elsa thought they roost wasn't high enough.

i think by now if either was a boy it'd have a decent comb and or be crowing right? They will be 6 months on march 9th.
