So excited to show off my coop!! UPDATED PICS - DONE!! P. 3

Beautiful job! I'm getting ready to put an addition to my small coop/run. I'm going to do the same thing but I decided to put a roof on so it doesn't turn into a mud bath out there.

I was wondering how many chickens will be living in your coop and run. Also, do they stay in the run all the time. I already have a coop but I love the run that you built and am planning on building one for my chickens too.

Thanks and great job

We will have approx 18 chickens in there (est. 3 bantams - just guessing on the sex right now of them all!). There's about 66 sq ft of inside space (3.67 sq ft per chicken...). Almost every day they will have free range of our back yard (approx 1/2 acre fenced). We are considering putting a roof on to keep out rain/snow, but if we do not, then we'll definitely put something over the run so that throughout all seasons they can utilize the run daily.

Thanks for the great comments!! Very sweet

I have a few inside pics though it doesn't show the roosts so I need some better pics - but they're on my byc page (along with chick pics!). I used melamine board on the inside walls (insulated) and vinyl flooring for easy cleaning, 4 nest boxes (can add more if we need to) and about 14"/chicken of roost space (length).

I *think* we have enough ventilation - coming from 1) 2 vents 1x2 at the top of each peak. 2) the window (2x4) faces the run and can be opened from the top down (keep out wind gusts since it'll be higher than the chickens) and 3) one of the doors (2x6) is not going to be used as a door, instead we are putting wire on the inside so that in high heat times we can keep that open for them AND the top portion of the door can open only so that in the winter, it can allow more ventilation.

Dude seriously...u need DUCKS! Look at that great pond!! Love the coop but u need to make another for some ducks
