Starting a poultry farm southern Missouri

I am thinking about starting to raise chickens and possibly turkeys to sell eggs and meat or live birds. What should I know about the laws and restrictions? Do I have to get permits to sell to public and auctions?

Most states will require NPIP and AI testing to sell instate and you have to have it for shipping over state lines UNLESS the state you are shipping a bird allows vet certification instead.

Check your state's law on chicken meat, IE my stay allows 1k or under sold before needing specific licenses but you have to have the butcher set up (stainless steel etc) and be open to inspection. Most states have a egg license if you wanna sell at farmer's markets you'll want to look into. Invest into being a LLC to protect personal property.
