I purchased these as Lavender mottled and Isabel Lavender laced English Orpingtons. I currently have 12 eggs in the incubator from them. I only have one roo with the hens. He is the Isabel Lavender lace. Interested in how the colors and patterns play out in hatching.

Should be interesting. I don't believe the birds are what that were sold as.
They all look blue based instead of lavender and not what I'd expect if properly laced. The one is mottled though.
Here they are as chicks when I purchased them. I have so much to learn. I’m thinking I may have gotten these as results of someone’s project. Regardless they will stay on the farm. Super sweet chickens

Thank you. I thought they looked too dark for Lavender.
If they are actually blue, you should be able to tell when the eggs hatch.

Blue x blue gives black, blue, and splash.
Lavender x lavender gives only lavender.
Blue x lavender gives black and blue, and maybe lavender chicks if the blue parent carries lavender too.

So any black chicks, or a variety of shades of gray, would indicate that you have at least some blues.

(I'm ignoring pattern for this example, and just talking about the dilution genes blue and lavender.)

Thank you! Two more weeks in the incubator and I will update!
