all of a sudden i have one hen that every other day or so has been laying a robin sized egg. normally i get six full size large eggs a day from my girls. could this perhaps be the runt of the litter not getting enough nutrients? they have a compact flouresent light on a timer to give them about 15-16 hrs of light a day and free access to layer pellets, rehydrated alfalfa pellets, and oyster shell all in seperate feed bins. i have a five galllon heated bucket in thier coop for water so i can't really see how i can be short changing the girls on anything. i'm thinking this might be one girls kind of going into a molt cycle but nobodys losing any feathers. any clues as to what might be causing my mysterious small egg???

thanks. ty

I've heard these especially small eggs called: "fairy eggs" or "wind eggs" or "fart eggs".
If they are just getting started laying- no worries- just working out the system.
