The other chicks protest too, but they calm down right away once you get them in a comfy position. My Polish (who is very flighty when you first grab her) will nestle her head in the crook of your elbow and hide. This little booger screamed the entire time until we put her down, and even then she eyed us most suspiciously.

I would try picking it up and petting holding while giving a treat. Eventually they
may calm down after learning it's a treat time when they are held

It as a 4-H show and I recieved both.

Good Job and Congrads on the accomplishment's. The 4-H trophies are the best my opinion.
