Surviving Minnesota!

Actually I got it [chicken carrier] for free at the Dixie Classic in Knoxville, any Junior member of Cochin international that was there got one. But Vinson Workman made that one. They're super easy to make actually

It looks easy to build, which is why I am interested in trying to make one. I have Googled Vinson Workman but come up with lots of facebook accounts. Is Vinson Workman a company? I found a BYC thread on building a chicken carrier, but that was posted in 2010 and the links for the chicken carrier plans are long dead. Do you have other pictures of your carrier, or a link to where I could get the plans to build one? I just like the looks of your carrier better than my plastic pet carrier.

That's the name of the guy who makes them. I can see if my younger sister will take pictures of them I can't guarantee it though. I just had ACL surgery so I can't go down to the yard with all of this mud

This weekend we kept pretty busy at my Parents’ place. They keep giving to us even though in heaven.

It’s not a very big garden. But with the kanebecs— digging those and taking care of such a productive garden (Chicken by-products—. animals still required to produce like this) it was a bigger day.
These ‘yucky’ things just love to keep growing in my yard. So we had them with some venison kabobs. Delish.

I think I see a wild animal doing damage or about to do damage..I would destroy it now before you are over run with them..

I suggest the SSS method...or a modified SSS .... some times the guys in green are not as understanding of the damage they can do as I am.

@Bogtown Chick, nice pictures, thank you. I have deer coming onto my property every once in a while - mostly the garden, unfortunately. Would like to feed them in the backyard but I live alongside a highway. Too many car/deer accidents where I live due to people feeding deer which causes the deer to cross roads to get to food.

I had a friend a few years ago total his car when he hit a deer crossing the road. The property owner came out and starting yelling at my friend that he killed his "pet" deer that he had been feeding in his yard all year. My friend went off on him stating that he and his family could have been killed because he hit that "pet" deer trying to cross the road to get food in his backyard. I don't understand the priorities of some people. If you live next to a busy road, please don't feed the deer. If you live in a safe, remote area, then enjoy. Wish I could.

Oh Gosh I would rather they just eat the acorns and keep passing through. But my flower garden gets hit if I don't do the rotten egg spray like every week ...and my beautiful sunflowers that were coming got browsed off....smell too delicious... I live in the middle of no where and off the highway for sure. But I still find them annoying. In an effort to reserve the chicken feed for the chickens, as you can see I moved it up on the deck.... Now I'm not real keen on doing that because I need to then get a broom to my deck more than I usually do. If I moved those feeding bowls to my patio set on the other side of the deck I'm thinking I will have Rudy there along with his friends sitting white tails down in the chairs licking out those rubber bowls.

I'll get a picture of that one for sure...

We thought of SSS (but that will be last week of deer season with no others in the freezer. DH says he likes some sport in it...
