Svart Hona x Buff Orpington...

Bad news. Another one hatched, but didn't make it. Found it outside the nest this morning. Either wandered out or the broody rejected it.

Same markings as the first. Lighter legs.
sorry for your loss. broodies know better than us. when chicks go far broodies call them to come back. I believe it was rejected as I had a similar case.

Thanks. Always sad, but I'll trust her judgment. Had a third hatch this morning. It is black with white face and underbelly and black feet, so definitely "E" extended black and no dominant white. Which means that the buffs are heterogeneous for dominant white (I/I+)

This leads me to believe that My Svart roo is:
E/e+, S/S. Fm/FM, i+/i+, id+/id+

And my buffs are:
e^Wh/e^Wh, Co/Co, Db/Db, Di/Di, Mh/Mh, s+/-, I/I+, and Id/-

I think that is the only way I could get the two patterns I've seen so far.

Here are some updated photos of my Svart Hona x Buff Orpington chick @ 6 weeks.

These two chicks are the eWh, Er chicks. They ended up with some sort of lacing/penciling:

This is the white eWh, e+ chick, mostly white with some sort of spangle markings:
