tar-like poop

Is this normal? I did a search and found one posting. I'm still confused though as to whether i should be worried about this thick, black, sticky stuff I'm finding in the run and coop.

Could be related to something they ate or drank (dark?) or it could possibly be old blood. One of my chickens had a serious problem which resulted in her bleeding internally and her poop looked VERY dark and tar like. The vet was the one who diagnosed this. This is not necessarily what is going on with your chicken; however, you want to rule this out...

This is cecal poop, you can look it up. It is usually caused by something they ate, adn is not fully digested. Its ok, won't kill them. My crap it all over my back porch, its hard to get off.
