Temporarily attaching temp coop to temp run?

I got some hasps to put on the ramp door and the lid of the nesting box with locking carabiners to hold them closed.

The latch on the run is ridiculously flimsy also so I also got a chain and another locking carabiner to reinforce that too.
If you are keeping the nest box, I'd suggest removing the 2 slanted triangle side peices of the side walls and screwing HWC with washers over them for some great high up ventilation

I saw the notches in the floor and don't get why they'd have those at all.

Dang, it looks like the roof channel pieces attach to the two top triangular sections of the side walls. I was hoping I could leave those two pieces out and cover the gap with hardware cloth.

Looks like I might have to end up cutting holes into some sections instead. I kinda do want to have the nest box attached, never know when you might need it and it would help keep inside the coop weather proof in our crazy down (side) pours.
I think they go through the screw holes in the corners, I can't be for sure though. I'll go out and look later. I know when I was putting it together before I decided to ditch the nest box I had a way to add ventilation.

Pick a side of the run and cut a hole so that the door and ramp extend down into it. You can use additional hardware cloth to close any gaps between the 2. To keep them flush, maybe just run 2 2x4's in parallel so that they are above and below the door, then make a square off of those 2x4's around the coop to keep it in place with the run.

Another option could be to raise the coop so that your chickens can go under it. That would allow you to place it in the run without taking up floor space. This would also give them a roof to go under if it rains.

Totally forgot to check out the placement of the roof support beams, I'm sorry, I'll get on it tomorrow
I started assembling today. I got up to putting the roof on and then the drizzle I was ignoring turned into a downpour so I gave up for today.

But I did get to see that the roof does attach to the side triangle pieces. I got my father (retired general contractor with aaaaallllll his tools) to cut out openings in them for me.

The roof rail supports will hold down some of the top of the hardware cloth and I put a screw in the roof rail to hold the other side up.

I also covered the bottom cut outs with hardware cloth and screwed down the floor boards.

And the run is finished. I'm bound and determined to move them out of my basement this weekend.

That is great! I'm sorry, had some stuff going on and got totally side tracked! I look forward to seeing the finished product! I can't stand chicks in my house for more than 3 days and I'm done with them, so I'm sure you're more than ready, lol
They are coming to the end of their 5th week spent in my basement.

They're over it.

I'm over it.

Yesterday the eviction from my basement was served. The chicks survived their first night outside.

I had to physically pick them up and put them in the coop last night when I went out to close up but I'm sure they'll get the routine down soon enough.

I just decided to leave the coop inside the run for now at least.

i was looking at the same ecoflex but was put off by the ventilation situation. Also, did you add hinges to the roof? or any other place so you can easily clean out the coop? That was a huge issue ppl have with this. If we buy it, i will use some concrete blocks to life it off the ground. Great hacks! Thanks for the inspiration! Can you post some pics of the inside and front?
