The 10th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!!

Day 14. Last candling! I was really just checking air cells. I was very happy that most looked spot on. This is my first time dry hatching Marans eggs. Humidity has been 20-25%. Ultimately I won't know if it's worked until after the hatch but I have high hopes. The cells on these eggs are marked on days 7 and 14.

A couple days early, but seems ok. One down, 13 to go!

Day 14 candling here resulted in 2 with blood rings removed. Another one looks like a quitter, maybe. That leaves 31 still viable/moving. One week to go!!!

Thank you! I'm quite proud of them. Although they were purchased as chicks to I can't take any credit. I'm excited to finally have my own small flock to grow and develop.
