The age of the roosters is a factor

With the leghorn eggs too?

I kind of figured it was a factor. Based on the look of the chicks I've hatched this year the CCL cockerel is doing his job well. I may start looking for another Am to replace my rooster.

My 10 eggs in Ovation will go on lockdown Tuesday night, and the 6 eggs on Mini II will lockdown on Thursday.

I lockdown my eggs on Tuesday also!! Good luck!

I have a question for you all.

Do raise humidity at lockdown or do you wait until you see pips and raise it then?

I raise it at lockdown.

I saw a chart once that showed the drop off of fertility with roosters. Fertility dropped quickly some where between 2 and 3 years of age.

Lockdown this morning. All 13 made it but 2 I'm unsure about as I didn't see movement when I candled.

I need to hatch out more chickens too. My hens are laying well now for the most part but I do have an older hen that is not laying. I might hatch some next month.

For now I am really enjoying the quail!
