Did I mention I LOVE my Cabinet cooler incubator and the reg coolerbators!!!

Moved some chicks to the brooder, ALL are BS FAVS so far and one CCL male it
They were filling up the coolerbator and I think we have about 15 more or so to go!
so they can breath now ha ha ha
all eggs have pipped or hatch except three, one brahma and two CCL are not pipped : (
I cannot complain, thats alot of chicks!

Yaay, glad you made it!

Thank you! There is no way I can read all of the posts since I last popped on! Busy, busy! I haven't been on as much since my chicken bators aren't the only things incubating here right now! I'm expecting my second child and I have been very, very sick.

I was so far behind (over 300 posts) I just had to skip ahead and jump back in, I hope I didn't miss anything... I will go read the daily digest to be sure!

I candled yesterday and pulled 14 clear eggs. Oddly, 10 of them came from the same hen. I remember her eggs not hatching last year too. Could she be sterile? The eggs show as being fertilized. The other strange thing about her is that she still peeps like a chick, but is going on 2 years old. Has anyone ever had that before? I won't be setting her eggs again, but I thought I would share the oddity.

I am going to recandle tonight..I know I have about 8 or so questionables I gave a few more days but since many were repaired i don't want to give them too much time could be growing yucky stuff and not chicks,turkeys,or ducks...

I don't think we have a an avian vet around here, let alone one that will look at a chicken, besides, I find it cost prohibitive. She seems perfectly healthy and lays nice, albeit very round, eggs about 4 times a week. It is a strange thing to hear her peep though. It constantly has me looking for hidden chicks and then I remember it is just this one nutty little chicken.

Is this a blood ring? There was movement but no eye spot Monday. Then yesterday and today this is all I can see. I'm not sure if I can see movement now....

Also has anyone ever heard of twins from a single yolk egg? I have one egg that I will swear has two separate eye spots. Im uploading a video to photobucket as we speak but here is a pic.

The one is in the center. The other is off to the far right of the picture.
