The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

Pics
I plan on joining if I have a broody hen available at the time. Maybe put 8 eggs under her? I have an incubator, but it makes it easier to introduce new chickens into the flock if they start out there with mama.

Welcome, hope your broody plays ball :fl

Count me in!

Excellent, what will you be setting?

I’m in!
I’ll be setting silkie and chanteclere eggs this year

:clap

I'm in! I'll be setting Swedish Flower Hen eggs.

Lovely breed :)

I in and will be setting atleast BBS Giant Cochins and my mix eggs hoping to get some mille fleur d'uccle eggs as well as some quail.

Great mix of eggs :D

I would like to let my broody girl, Bertha sit on some eggs for Easter! I cant predict *exactly* when she'll go broody again....seems she's trying every two months almost like clockwork, but winter kinda messed up her timing. So one of my "if"s is Bertha's timing(anyone have any tips for getting a hen to go broody when it's more convenient to me??? She tried last October, but I think it was already too cold...she gave up about 5 days before the eggs would have hatched. She's young...I'd like to give her another shot this spring! The other "if" is I need Gertrude to start laying again...She's my only Ameraucana girl, so she'd be the only one to give me purebred chicks with my Am. Rooster. I'd really like to increase my green egg supply. :) But she's been takin' a break this month...hasn't laid an egg in two weeks. I dont have an incubator, so I have to rely on my girls cooperating. I'll do my best to get a batch of eggs going! I really want to have some more chickies!
