I noticed my 16 week old Speckled Sussex, Bella, pacing and going in and out of the coop this afternoon. I put a dishpan with a couple of fake eggs and some hay in the coop - sure enough, she settled down into the pan, pushed the 2 "eggs" underneath herself, and was throwing hay onto her back. 10 minutes later, she came triumphantly down the ramp, singing her egg song!( bok bok bok -ba GAAAWWK!!) Sure enough, a little egg left behind! So exciting, and she was the cutest...!
