We have 8 sweet ladies that up until Hurricane Florence were consistently laying 7 to 8 eggs daily. Hurricane Florence arrived in our area and our hens haven't laid an egg since! They seem healthy and none of their other habits have changed. Any ideas?

Our hens are 3-4 years old. We didn't get much of the storm; just a little rain which we desperately needed. We also have a small banty hen that has been brooding ever since. Typical brooding behavior but she hasn't come out of it yet! I'm making sure that she gets water and food every day.

Hurricane Irma interrupted egg laying with my girls last year. They quit laying, molted and were back to normal. Storm stress, or maybe just that time of year.

They are probably getting ready to molt.
Are you going to let that broody hatch?
If not, best to break her.
