The Imported English Jubilee Orpington Thread

Those are not frizzled. Below is what a frizzled orpington looks like. They are quite rare. Sorry for the poor quality photos.

I am aware that they are not Frizzles, was just trying to have some fun at the poor chicks' expense. Trust me their feathers are going in all directions like the Frizzles', but I have been informed by some wise men and women here that they will settle down as they grow.

Here is my Fancy Chick pullet. She is about 4 months old and some growing left to do. My camera wasn't working at optimum settings in the evening here, will try to get more natural lighting next time

I really like her black and white markings!
Also the red is that kind of 'dark red' which is desired.
I breed Wyandottes in the same color for 2 years now.
That colorpattern on your Orpington is my objective.
My current generations are still to messy colored (too much black/white).

Frida is definitely a rooster, right? She/he is almost 10 weeks old. He hasn't started crowing like my 2 other little roos, but he certainly looks like one. I just want to be sure before I start trying to find a home for him.

She/he is such a gorgeous chicken regardless.

I would say that's a rooster. White chest, already red comb/wattles. He is handsome!

When you say "messey" are you referring to the heads, because the patterning on the body is PERFECT!!!? These birds are as lovely as the Orps! Jubilee Wyandottes!!!!!!

Actually I am referring to the pattern in total.
My problems are the following :

-Red leakage in the white 'pearl'

-Too much black

-Too white

-Not enough black (wing and chest)

I do have one older rooster and one young cockerel that I really like when speaking about their coloring

The hens I would love to have should start looking like this

This hen , nor the picture are mine, but from a breeder living in Holland.

He was so kind to offer me 2 hens to improve the coloring.
It's another type of red, but I am convinced that these hens will help a lot in improving my Wyandotte bantams.

I am sorry for spamming in this Orpington thread, but since we are talking about the same color...
It would be nice to find some breeders who have experience with this color, to share ideas, theories and other knowledge.
