Oh, man, did we push for/BEG for that where I worked.

Me: I'm going to be gone for a week in a month. Who is doing my job while I'm on vaca?
Immediate Boss: We'll get someone trained.
Me: I'm going to be gone for a week in two weeks. Who is doing my job while I'm on vaca?
Immediate Boss: We'll get someone trained.
Me, on Monday: I'm going to be gone all next week. Who is doing my job while I'm on vaca?
Immediate Boss: Start going over everything with Joe this afternoon.
Joe never shows up at my machine. Not on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Friday morning, I tell him he's in charge of it for a week and he freaks out.
