Don’t worry. Nobody ever got botulism from a bit of mold on bread.
I am not advocating eating moldy bagels. And actually I never have. But I do know that if the mold hasn’t taken over the whole slice you can just cut the moldy bit off a slice of bread and no harm will come to you and it only tastes bad when it really gets thoroughly moldy.

I almost did that the other day. Toasted it, put butter and pbj on it. Then fixed my son one. His was moldy so it made me check mine. Had to throw both away

Oh wow! That sucks you went so far as to toast it and everything too. At least I hadn’t toasted mine yet but still gross either way.
